CODING CONTEST

About

Are you crazy about your knowledge in computer science and programming? Come and show all your craziness about computer science and justify your love for programming in this largest and most awaited event of Anveshana -2019

1. Coding contest is based on C Programming. The questions must be solved in C language only
2. Students from any engineering discipline/ branch may participate and it is an individual task

3. There will be three rounds
a. Round 1: Choose the correct answers
b. Round 2: Fill in the blanks
c. Round 3: Program development and execution on system (Output screenshots will be given to participants)

Rules and Regulations

• Participant who completes coding within given time will be winner
• Your code will be evaluated depending upon the correctness of the code, time complexity and space complexity.
• In case of any tie, the ranking will be determined depending on the total time taken by the candidate in this round.
• Do not discuss any strategy or logic of the program during a live contest.
• All participants are expected to abide by the rules ®ulations of the contest.
• Any Violation of the Rules & Regulations shall lead to the cancellation of the candidature from the competition.
• All decisions made by the judges are final and are not subject to appeal.

Round 1: Debugging

• A set of 3 programs will be given with some logical and syntactical errors.
• Points will be awarded for debugging each error.
• Total points will be evaluated upon the correctness of the submitted program/programs.
• Points will be awarded for solving each question as per given input and output pattern.
• The ranking will be determined depending on the total time taken by the candidate in this round.
• Based on the registrations the number of levels will be decided.
• Do not discuss any strategy or logic of the program during a live contest.
• All Participants are expected to abide by the rules ®ulations of the contest.
• Any violation of the Rules & Regulations shall lead to the cancellation of the candidature from the competition.
• All decisions made by the judges are final and are not subject to appeal.

Information Technology

CODING CONTEST

It’s a team event. Each Team can have 2 members maximum.

Round 1: Debugging (Elimination Round)

• A set of 3 questions will be given with some logical and syntactical errors only in C programming.
• Points will be awarded for debugging each error.
• Total points will be evaluated upon the correctness of the submitted program/programs.
• Top 10 teams will be selected for the next round i.e., final round.
• Points scored in Round 1 will be added to the points obtained in Round 2 for the final evaluation

Round 2: Coding (Final Round)

• A set of 3 questions will be given to each team.
• The questions can be solved in any language of team’s interest.
• Total marks = Total marks in Round 1 + Total marks in Round 2.
• Points will be awarded for solving each question as per given input and output pattern.
• Your code will be evaluated depending upon the correctness of the code, time, complexity and space complexity.
• In case of any tie, the ranking will be determined depending on the total time taken by the team in this round.
• Do not discuss any strategy or logic of the program during a live contest.
• All Participants are expected to abide by the rules ®ulations of the contest.
• Any violation of the Rules & Regulations shall lead to the cancellation of the team from the competition.
• In case of any conflict, the decision of jury panel will be final and binding.

Electronics & Communication Engineering



CIRCUIT-MANIA

Description:

A Circuit-Mania contest is conductede for a team of two members. There will be two rounds. First round will begin with electronic components in which participants will have to identify the component symbolsbased on basic engineering questions. Selected participants will step into the next round. In next round questions will be provided along with circuit components where participants will have to join the circuit correctly using Multisim software and they need to show the required output.

Rules:

• Number of participants in a team should not exceed more than two.
• Decision taken by the judges will be final.
• Any kind of malpractices will lead to disqualification of the team.
• Judging criteria will be based on the least time taken to connect the circuit.

Time duration:one hour



E-CUBE

Description:

First round will begin with 3X3 CUBE in which participants will have to identify the given formulae which are printed on cube. Selected participants will step into the next round.In next round 4X4 CUBE will be provided and the students will identify the given formulae printed on the cube.

Rules:

• Number of participants in a team should not exceed two.
• Decision taken by the judges will be final.
• Any kind of malpractices will lead to disqualification of the team.
• Judging criteria will be based on the least time taken to find the formula in the cube.

Time duration: 10 min



CODING CONTEST

Description:

A coding contest is conducted for individual or a team of two members. Contest is for one hour duration. A common problem will be assigned to participants. They need to implement algorithm, write program and execute on PC. They may write any source code preferably C language. Teams will be ranked as per the problem solving capability.

Rules and Regulations:

• This competition is open for UG students.
• Individuals or team of two persons will be allowed to compete.
• All teams will be given the same set of problems to solve.
• Participants should report sharplyat given time.
• Each team will be allowed to use single PC only.
• Contestants cannot bring any notes or textbooks to the contest room. Blank sheets of paper will be supplied.
• Contestants in the same team can discuss the problems they are assigned. However, they should do so in a quiet way and without disturbing contestants in other teams.
• Use of mobile phones and internet during competition will lead to disqualification.
• Contestants may write their programs in whichever language they prefer (C, VHDL, ASM and MATLAB. Preferably C language)
• Decision of panel of judges will be final.

Mechanical Engineering

MACHINO

About

The main objective of conducting MACHINO is to impart sufficient knowledge of machines to students in assembling the different parts of the machine. By this, students will gain knowledge and assessment skills of different machines by arranging their partsin an order.

Rules and regulations

• Students will be given an envelope which contains parts of a particular machine arranged in an irregular order and actual picture will also given to them.
• They will be given prescribed time period, in which they have to start assembling the diagram by looking at the actual picture
• Winner will be one who successfully completes the assembling of complete diagram within short duration.
• After starting of the process there will be no chance of halting at any stage.
• Students must raise their hands on completion of assembly and time period will be noted.
• After rising the hand there will be no chance of giving them a second chance.

CAD MODELING

CAD Modeling is a creative engineering event.Here is an amazing opportunity to enhance and prove your design software skills

Rules and Regulations

• Student studying 2nd/3rd/4th year of Diploma/B.Tech./M.Tech. of Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Aeronautics / Robotics / Architecture / Civil Engineering degree program.
• The competition is purely based on individual participation and teams are not allowed.
• Problem for the event will be provided on the spot.
• The evaluation will be on the basis of CAD file (soft copy) saved in a folder (named as per registration ID) on the desktop.
• Computer with Autodesk software will be provided to the participant.
• The participants shall not be allowed to use any type of gadget including mobile phones, storage devices, laptops, etc.
• No manual/documents will be allowed which may help the participants in preparing CAD models.
• No communication will be allowed between the participants during the event.
• Audience shall not give any hints or clues to the participant.
• Any participant found not following event rules will be disqualified.
• The decision of the judges will be final.
• Design should be completed within the time in all aspects and 1st prize and 2nd prize winners are selected based on total marks obtained in all aspects of drafting.

LATHE MASTER

Description:

Participants will be given a task to perform on the lathe machine. Best performed participant will be the winner.

Rules and Regulations:

• Competition will be held for individual participant
• Task assigned will be of lottery based
• Assigned task should be completed within the given time
• Care should be taken while performing the task
• College will not be responsible for any injury
• Winner will be selected by the jury taking the task performed and time taken into consideration

TALL STRUCTURES

Description:

Inspired from the Leaning Tower of Pisa, here we are conducting leaning structure event. Here every individual participant needs to bring his/her own designed and fabricated model of leaning structure by following below mentioned rules and regulations.

Rules and Regulations:

• Super structure 40*10*10 cm (Height * Width * Breadth)
• Substructure 5*20*20 cm (Depth* Width* Breadth)
• Super structure must be inclined
• Weight of the whole structure must be considered
• Highly inclined super structure with lowest structural weight will be considered as the best leaning structure



BRICK MASONRY

Description

This event aims at providing perfect bonding between bricks

Rules and Regulations:

1. Bricks will be provided at the time of event
2. Problem will be given at the time of event



CAD RAW

Description

CAD RAW event aims to test the skill and knowledge of studentsusing AutoCAD software

Rules and Regulations

• Any student studying 2nd/3rd/4th year Diploma/B.Tech./M.Tech. of Mechanical / Production / Automobile / Aeronautics / Robotics / Architecture / Civil Engineering degree program.
• Participantsshould possess valid student identity cards. The competition is forindividual participation and teams are not allowed.

TECHNICAL PUZZLE

Description:

A Technical puzzle is a game, problem, or toy that tests a person's technical knowledge. In a technical puzzle, the solver is expected to put pieces together in a logical way, in order to arrive at the correct or fun solution of the puzzle. There are different genres of puzzles, such as crossword puzzles, match the following.

Rules and Regulations:

• Round 1: crossword puzzles

A Technical crossword is a word puzzle that usually takes the form of a square or a rectangular grid of white-and black-shaded squares. The game's goal is to fill the white squares with letters, forming words or phrases, by solving clues, which lead to the answers. In electrical languages that are written left-to-right, the answer words and phrases are placed in the grid from left to right and from top to bottom. The shaded squares are used to separate the words or phrase.

• Round 2: Match the following

In this round the inventors and their discoveries need to be matched. The time for each person to complete the task is 30seconds.

• Round 3: Electrical Puzzle

In this round the system name is given, the participant can recognize and arrange the components present in that system

GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. General Registration Fee Rs.100/- per participant and for each event Rs.100/- per participant.
2. Sports and Cultural events will be organized for Management and Engineering students i.e., the students need to compete with all the Management and Engineering students of different colleges.
3. Online registration &Spot registration is available
4. All participants must carry their ID cards, Letter of nomination duly signed by respective college Principal/HOD for participation.
5. All participants will be issued a certificate of participation.
6. Judges verdict is final in all the events.
